A finely crafted hollow metal bookmark from AGAPASS.

The Story Behind

In the summer of a once-in-a-century flood, the waters overwhelmed Zhuozhou—China’s “city of publishing.”
Countless books were lost beneath the torrents. Our long-time partner, Beijing Morning Light Books, suffered devastating losses—about 75% of their stock was destroyed.

The “Red Sea Divides” design had been drawn long ago, but the designer never found the right moment to bring it to life—until this collaboration.
When we received Morning Light’s request, we instantly realized: this artwork was created for this very moment.

We painted the roaring waves with vivid color,
and depicted peace in the one who walks safely, guided by the raised staff and clothed in white.
In a generation where the world feels increasingly unsafe,
we are reminded—only by relying on strength from above can we see the dawn in the darkness.
